Every day thousands of people of all ages visit the Central Library. They conduct research for work and school, browse the shelves for classics and bestsellers, and use computers to access information from the other side of town and the other side of the world—all with the assistance of knowledgeable and helpful staff. The vast collections of the Central Library are used not only by the downtown population, but by the whole city and the greater Milwaukee area. Central Library also serves as a resource library for the state. Departments at Central Library Arts & Media Department Betty Brinn Children's Room Business & Technology Room Frank P. Zeidler Humanities Room Centennial Hall is located within the Milwaukee Public Library's Central Library building in downtown Milwaukee. The hall entrance is on Eighth Street, between Wells Street and Wisconsin Avenue, just south of the Central Library's drive-thru window. There is no entrance to the hall through the library.
